3D Orchid flower

Amazing stained glass orchid that will live forever even if you have a poor history of looking after house plants!
 
Made using the Tiffany foiling technique which allows for more intricate and complex patterns and involves cutting each individual piece of glass and wrapping with a copper tape rather than using thick lead.  The pattern is then pieced together and solder is applied to the tape to form a strong bond, followed by an oxidising agent to turn it that lovely dark pewter colour.  It is the same traditional method used by Louis Comfort Tiffany back in the late 1800's to make their beautiful lamps. 
 
The plant pot has plaster of paris and loose builders sand in the bottom to weight it down and is then filled with bark.  
 
Approximate total height is 55cm and each flower is approximately 12cm wide.  The pot is approximately 16cm H x 15cm diameter.
