Oak Topography Coffee Table

This stunning coffee table is a true statement piece.  Chris has found a way to incorporate his popular topography maps into a useful and attractive piece of furniture.  This is his very first creation on this scale and no other examples currently exist!  
 
The decorative picture itself is made using laser cut wooden pieces for the land and acrylic for the lakes.  The wood is layered together to create the relief "topography" style.  This particular design features Buttermere, Crummock Water and Loweswater along with certain surrounding landmarks such as Rannerdale Knotts, Honister Pass, Loweswater Fell and more.  It has been placed inside the table in such a way that it can be removed if necessary.   
 
The solid oak table was not made by Chris but lends itself perfectly to his idea.  It has smooth bevelled edges and a removable tempered glass top so that it can be cleaned as required.  There is a solid oak shelf underneath for storage.
