Single Intercom Dictograph Telephone Lamp

These old intercom dictograph telephones have been cleverly transformed into freestanding side lamps.  Once used as internal communication devices, they now give off a warm glow as decorative and useful lamps.
 
The base, mouthpiece and switches have all been carefully cleaned without destroying the age and patina of the items.  Then a copper pipe has been inserted through the flex cable to suspend the receiver above the base.  Finally a plug with a green cable and a small, screw in, warm glow 230V candle bulb have been added to create the lamp.  
 
The front  switches still click up and down and the switch hook in the cradle still depresses to release the switches.  The lamp is switched on using a touch panel on the front of the base.  You tap once for the lowest setting, twice for the middle setting and 3 times for the brightest it will go.  They do not give off a large amount of light but they are very effective and unique.
 
Approximate total size of each lamp, including copper pipe etc, is 37cm H x 26cm W x 20cm D.  
Approximate size of base alone is 13cm H x 19cm W x 17cm D.
Approximate total length of plug cable is 165cm.
 
There are repaired cracks on both mouthpieces which add to the character of these aged telephones.
